THE CHALLENGE

Experience raw, natural climbing again at the Pachmarhi Climbing Challenge 2.0. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Jatashankar Rock Face in the Satpura Range, this is India's only open natural rock climbing competition.

We are moving beyond artificial walls. This is a test of true grit, technical skill, and endurance on natural terrain.

  • Venue: Jatashankar Rock Face, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh (Queen of Satpura)
  • Discipline: Lead Climbing (Natural Rock)
  • Sanctioning Body: Under the aegis of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) & IMF West Zone Committee.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

Open to athletes from across India.

  • Men & Women (17+): Anyone born on or before 31 December 2008.
  • Boys & Girls (Under 17): Athletes born between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2011.

Technical Note: The competition adheres strictly to IFSC and IMF Rules. Routes are designed by certified IMF Route Setters featuring vertical faces, overhangs, and complex crux sections.

Entry Fee: Rs 2,400/- per athlete

What's Included?

  • Accommodation: 3-night stay at Kamdhaj Jungle Camp, Pachmarhi (Basic campsite, sharing basis/shared washrooms).
  • Meals: All meals from Lunch on Day 1 (Jan 9) to Breakfast on Day 4 (Jan 12).
  • Transport: Shared transportation from the campsite to the event location.
  • Essentials: Basic First Aid arrangement & Event Goodies.

    • 14:00: Athlete Reporting & Check-in at Pachmarhi.
    • 17:15: Technical Meeting & Route Briefing.
    • Evening: Opening Ceremony.
  • Day 02 | Jan 10, 2026
    • All Day: Semifinals (Men, Women, Boys, Girls).
  • Day 03 | Jan 11, 2026
    • Morning/Afternoon: Grand Finals.
    • Evening: Closing Ceremony & Prize Distribution.
  • Day 04 | Jan 12, 2026
    • Morning: Breakfast & Departure.

ATHLETE MANDATORIES (Simplified)

  • Bring Your Gear: Athletes must carry their own climbing shoes and chalk bag.
  • Appeals: Any technical complaint must be given in writing to the Event Delegate with a fee of Rs1,000 (cash only).
  • Travel: All participants must arrange their own travel to Pachmarhi.
  • Nearest Railway Stations: Pipariya (60 km) and Itarsi (100 km).
  • Nearest Airports: Bhopal (200 km) and Nagpur (250 km).

How To Reach

Reaching by Road

Bus services to Pachmarhi are available from Bhopal, Nagpur, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Pipariya and other places. There are 7 buses daily to Bhopal which take just 6-7 hours. Buses are operated by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation as well as other private companies.

Reaching by Rail

The nearest rail station is Pipariya (50 kms). It is on the Mumbai-Howrah line and is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore.

Reaching by Air

Bhopal airport (195 kms) is the nearest airport. Major airlines connect Bhopal to various cities in India that include Gwalior, Mumbai and Delhi.
