Bhopal is all set to welcome Bookaroo – Festival of Children’s Literature, a vibrant celebration that brings books, stories, imagination and creativity to life. Held in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the two-day festival invites children to explore the wonderful world of literature through interactive sessions, storytelling, art, theatre, poetry and creative workshops. Designed for children aged 4–14 years, Bookaroo Bhopal features 42 sessions and 24 speakers, with participation from 6 countries, bringing together young readers, writers, illustrators, storytellers and creative voices.
Storytelling & Literature – Discover new stories, characters and worlds through engaging storytelling sessions.
Creative Workshops – Take part in hands-on activities involving illustration, crafts, character creation and creative expression.
Art & Culture – Explore traditions and art forms through sessions such as Warli Whirl, inspired by the world of Warli art.
Nature & Wildlife – Discover animals, birds, forests and the natural world through stories, games and interactive activities.
Poetry & Writing – Explore poetry, ghazal, storytelling and the art of finding and telling stories.
Theatre & Performance – Create characters, write scenes and bring stories to life on stage.
Interactive Sessions for Young Minds – From creating imaginary birds to discovering the hidden wonders of nature, the festival encourages curiosity and imagination.
The programme features sessions for different age groups, from 4–6 years to 12–14 years, along with sessions open to all ages.
