With an aim to cover the magnificent remains of Indore's glorious past, Ubuntu Welfare Society has been organizing heritage walks in Indore and also recently won the accolade for 'Best Heritage Walk' at the National Tourism Award ceremony on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2018. The city has myriad of things to do for an unforgettable experience.
How the heritage walks are designed?
One of the most effective ways to appreciate the art and architecture of any place is to simply walk through the lanes experiencing the ambience around. The heritage walks are aimed to offer the participants, a fascinating urban heritage experience by engaging them in the history and culture of Indore. It accommodated the history of the city and the life of common people covering some of the oldest heritage monuments. Several historical stories and the freedom struggle movements, social reforms and many such unique aspects were shared during the walk.
Excellent architectural works reflecting historical legacy
While on a tour to local sightseeing in Indore, one can never be tired of the architectural works that the city boasts of. Since there are a plethora of monuments, heritage and places to visit, a tourist has a lot to explore and learn with each sightseeing. Important places of tourist attraction here are Rajwada, Krishnapura Chhatri (cenotaphs), Kaanch Mandir, Lal Bagh Palace, central museum and more.
