Sanjay Dubri, situated in the northeastern part of Madhya Pradesh across Sidhi and Shahdol districts, spans 1674 sq. km. The reserve encompasses Dubari Sanctuary and Sanjay National Park in its core, while the buffer area extends into Sidhi and Shahdol Districts. Bounded by Guru Ghasidas National Park in the south, the reserve showcases diverse terrain with plains in Dubari Sanctuary and undulating hills in the National Park. The Gopad and Banas rivers delineate the eastern and western boundaries, converging into the Son River, eventually becoming part of the Son Gharial Sanctuary. This region, home to critically endangered gharials, also includes Bagdara Sanctuary in Singrauli district to the east.
