TOURISM VILLAGE KERIYAKHEDI

Keriyakhedi, a tribal village in Maheshwar block of Khargone district (Madhya Pradesh) is a developing rural tourism destination recognized for its rich heritage and handloom textiles. The village specializes in Maheshwari saree weaving, a tradition dating back to Rani Devi Ahilya’s reign, making it an identity for the local tribal community and a key employment source.

The village has over 400 tribal women engaged in traditional saree weaving on more than 150 handlooms, earning directly from their production. Two training centers promote Maheshwari saree craftsmanship, supporting local artisans and handicrafts.

Keriyakhedi offers an authentic rural experience showcasing artisan communities and nearby attractions like Ahilya Devi Fort and Sahastradhara waterfalls, with scenic views of the Narmada riverbank. It provides a tranquil retreat and a glimpse of traditional craftsmanship, blending culture, heritage, and natural beauty.

Three days stay at Keriyakhedi village will allow tourists to visit-

- Maheshwar Ghats: Famous for the Ahilya Devi Fort. 

- Sahastradhara waterfalls
