Mandu Sound and Light show

For nearly half an hour each evening in Mandu, time seems to slow down, allowing visitors to step gently back into history. Against the magnificent backdrop of Hindola Mahal, within the Jahaz Mahal complex, a spectacular Sound and Light Show unfolds - transforming stone, shadow, and silence into living memory. Inaugurated on February 10, 2019, the show brings Mandu's layered past vividly to life.

With a powerful and evocative narration, the story of Mandu is presented through dramatic visuals and carefully choreographed light effects. As the monuments glow and fade, the audience is taken through the rise, romance, and resilience of this historic town, once known as a city of joy, art, and refined culture.

A poignant highlight of the show is the legendary love story of Rani Roopmati and Baz Bahadur - a timeless saga filled with music, devotion, and deep emotion, yet marked by tragedy and separation. Their story, etched into Mandu's hills and palaces, adds a lyrical, almost haunting quality to the experience. As the narration flows, Hindola Mahal itself seems to awaken, echoing with voices from centuries past.

The Bilingual Show

The Sound and Light Show is designed to be bilingual, narrated in Hindi and English. At present, the Hindi version is operational, with the English version scheduled separately. Hindi shows run from 7:00 to 7:35 pm, while the English show is planned for 7:50 to 8:25 pm, allowing visitors to choose a time and language that suits them best.

If Mandu features on your travel list, be sure to reserve an evening for this immersive experience. The Sound and Light Show is not just a performance - it is a journey through history, romance, and architectural grandeur, leaving you with a deeper connection to Mandu's timeless soul.
