Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in association with ADTOI- MP Chapter (Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India) is hosting an International Symposium on Responsible Tourism for 'International Centre for Responsible Tourism, UK (ICRT) along with conducting the 2022 WTM World Tourism Award (India Awards) in Bhopal.
An ICRT team having representatives from different countries including, UK, Australia, South Africa, and France will visit different destinations of Madhya Pradesh. The team will be led by Dr. Harold Goodwin, founder director of ICRT and Managing Director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership. The team will be visiting Madhya Pradesh's rich heritage sites and villages that are developed under Rural Tourism. They will be exploring Gramstays, local excursions, traditional cuisine, and cultural programs as well. They will also be reviewing Project Clean Destination (Solid Waste Management) at Madla, Project Humsafar at Orchha, and Project Responsible Souvenir at Madla.
WTM Responsible Tourism India Awards 2022
The Responsible Tourism award started in 2004. This is the first time that ICRT is presenting the award out of London, U.K. There are 16+ countries that come under the India and sub-continent which are going to participate. To name a few Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand, Philippines, and many more. The international jury will decide the winners of each category. The Gold winners of each category will compete for the Global award.
