Lokrang is celebrated in the capital of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Bhopal. The festival is also known as the Lokrang Samaroh, held each year in January. It is famous for its folk & tribal dance performances, drama, music, art, heritage and much more. Earlier, the show was conducted in Ravindra Bhavan, but since past few years, it is being organised at the BHEL ground. Lokrang is one of the best carnivals to experience ancient Indian cultures and international performances.
Lokrang Samaroh, the cultural fiesta is hosted every year by the Directorate of Culture and Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum. The five day festival promotes rich tribal and folk tradition of India through various cultural shows and performances such as performing arts, classical dance, tribal folk dance, puppet show, painting display and exhibition of art and crafts.
Apart from regional shows, one can also enjoy international performances and always do heaps of shopping from more than hundred stalls showcasing a wide range of fabrics and handicrafts from different states of India.
Reviving rural culture since 19 years, Lokrang Samaroh is inaugurated on Republic Day (26th January) every year followed by the closing ceremony on 30th January.

Bus services are available from Bhopal, Nagpur, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Pipariya and other places. There are 7 buses daily to Bhopal which take just 6-7 hours. Buses are operated by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation as well as other private companies.
