The Directorate of culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh brings you yet another edition of the extremely popular and highly esteemed ‘Tansen Samaroh 2017’. The festival honours the accomplishments of legendry singer ‘Tansen’ and other composers across the country. On this occasion, the music-driven platform is used by singers and instrumentalists from all over world to showcase their talent and perform in front of a live audience. The State Government also confers awards to the performers who have made a mark in the field of music.

The prestigious musical event will kick off on 22nd December. It will span over 9 events and 44 performances by Indian and international artists. Highlights of the event include 19 vocal and 15 instrumental performances, which will be graced by renowned artists like Ulhas Kashalkar (vocalist), Shubhendra Rao (sitar player), Pushkar Lele (vocalist) and Johannes Möller (guitarist). In addition, the first seven musical events will be held at ‘The Memorial of Tansen’ and the rest of the performances will take place in Behat village, with the closing ceremony at Gujari Mahal on 26th December. 

The Tansen Samaroh is celebrated every year in the memory of one of the most eminent singers in Indian history, ‘Tansen’!
