With an objective to bring a fortnight of intense focus on the issues of Swachhata or cleanliness by involving GOI Ministries/Departments, Swachhata Pakhwada was initiated in April 2016.
This campaign is a part of Swachh Bharat Mission which aims at cleaning the streets, roads, and setups of Indian cities, towns, and rural areas. One of the important goals of this campaign includes reducing open defecation through the construction of household-owned toilets.
Under Swachhata Pakhwada 2018, the government officials and local residents will come up together in order to clean their localities from 16th – 30th September.
