The Khajuraho Dance Festival began in 1975 and since then has been one of the most popular cultural events in India, attended by local, national and international audiences. Held in the spectacular vicinity of the evocative Khajuraho Temples, the artists offer tributes to gods and leave the audience enthralled. The setting sun, soft lights, sounds of anklets and musical instruments create an enchanting spell. Indian classical dance forms like Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Odissi, Manipuri, Kathak and Mohiniyattam are showcased at the festival.

    Reaching by Road

    Khajuraho is connected by road to cities like Jhansi, Orchha, Bandhavgarh and Chattarpur. You can hire a taxi from any of these places to get to the city.

    Reaching by Rail

    You can get to Khajuraho in a train by getting off at the Khajuraho Railway Station, which is around 5 km from the main town centre. The station is well connected to Delhi and Varanasi and (via Satna Railway Station) to Mumbai and Kolkata.

    Reaching by Air

    Khajuraho Civil Aerodrome is located about 2 km from the town centre and is well connected to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Indore. Taxis are available from the airport to reach the city centre.
